The 2016 ROC World Cup has come and gone. It was the largest ROC Cup yet. Over 120 players vied for the title of being crowned the ROC World Champion. Players have been practicing and gathering their points and qualifications for the big event. After three long days of competition, and many, many rounds later, Ed-Arnold Berkovits of 4 Points Gaming is your ROC Champion. Many of the top players in the game were in attendance, as the ROC Cup is vast becoming the marquee stage for high-level play. You could feel it in the atmosphere. The crowd cheering and moaning on attack rolls and Super Senses rolls alike. It was almost like watching a sporting event. Through it all, Ed piloted (pun intended) his version of the Quinjet team, which also included the dreaded Felix Faust, to the Championship. He defeated Easton Brock, of Team Stratagem, to keep the title in the family, so to speak (his son, Isaac, won it the year before). Apex Insiders writers Easton Brock, Patrick Yapjoco, and Joshua Earnest finished 2nd, 3rd, and 8th respectively, while Daniel Powell rounded out the Top 4.
Analysis:
Well, the field was as expected. Plenty of Devil Dinosaur and Mxy teams. The Quinjet was played in decent numbers as well, but made up half of the Top 8, while taking the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the process. The surprising entry here is Felix Faust. The recently un-banned piece was the key component in Ed’s winning team, and the mystical mischief took up three spots in the Top 8. There was a smattering of Faust’s throughout the field, but not enough to where it made a huge impact (until the Top 32). Phil’s “undying” tech is nothing new, but puts a new spin on it, putting Proteus on Resurrection Man for more firepower. Tent-poles weren’t that big in the format, but Josh’s Red Son Wonder Woman proved that tent-poles can still handle the format of swarm-like teams. With the WKO coming up just about two weeks, it will be interesting to see if Felix Faust sees an uptick in play, or if we will see more Quinjets at the lower point dial, now that Ed has won with it.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the lists other than the Top 8 :/
Doesn’t Proteus KO when Resurrection Man hits a KO click? Seems like a huge liability…
I meant Resurrection Mans countdown click.
No, because Proteus isn’t “linked’ (meaning the dial does not turn as Res Man does).
Actually I think that proteus is ko… it has been ruled on win in this thread

Would love to hear the strategy and reasoning for general lane on the arcade team. Been considering a mxy arcade faust team with round table and drones so i can switch out arcade for 70pt quinjet or 70py spidy. Seems like i must be missing what he does for the 40 pts. Even if the goal is unlock box wouldnt retailators be better?
WAIT WHAT NO LOVE FOR PEOPLE THAT DIDNT MAKE THE CUT ON SAT?
WHAT? NO LOVE FOR THE TOP16??
