We are proud to announce a great new venture for the Open Series and the ROC! The west coast has always been hungry for more high-level events as most of the events are run in the Midwest/East, with ROC Cup, Worlds, and Nationals all being on the other side of the country. Well, with the help of the ROC, we can bring a mini-circuit out to the west coast to fill the competitive needs of the community. Starting in March, and going all the way through to the end of the year, the Majestix Open Series will stop at 10 locations to find worthy individuals to fill seats at the Majestix Open Series Invitational in December 2018. This finale will be a grueling 2-day tournament testing the players in a variety of formats to crown the first ever Majestix Invitational Champion. We will be pulling out all the stops at this event, with coverage like never before in Heroclix.
The winners of each Qualifier will reserve one of 10 seats at the Invitational, with each winner receiving a $150 travel voucher (to be redeemed/collected at the Invitational) as well as receive a Semi-Finals Bye at the ROC Cup in October AND a First Round Bye at the ROC U.S. Cup in September. That’s right, each Qualifier also has ROC implications! The kits that these venues get will receive similar prizing to that of a Super/Mega Qualifier, complete with ROC dice, ROC tokens and wait for it… an exclusive ROC Majestix Open Series map that will be first available at these Qualifiers, with said maps being available during the 4th Quarter of the ROC season. Furthermore, the prizing for the Invitational (in addition to the $150 travel voucher that they will collect) is $2k CASH, with the Champion receiving $1k! Remember, there are ONLY 10 spots for the Invitational. So, let’s get down to some details:
Format: 300pt Majestix ROC Age (Superman to current set legal; everything in-between except Star Trek ships)
Entry Fee: $30
Event Structure: Swiss Rounds w/Top 8 cut
-We are still using the standard Map List for ROC events
-Millennium Stone will bring out a 5pt bystander on turn 1 (we will be playing this way)
-Spells/Traps are NOT legal
-Horde Tokens will NOT be legal
